I’m Zasha, the maker behind ZMJ Studio.
I’ve been working with glass and metal for over 16 years, drawn to materials that don’t cooperate. Glass demands control. Metal demands force. Both demand patience. That’s the part I love—the moment where something raw gets pushed through heat and pressure until it becomes wearable.
My work is built by hand in my Philadelphia studio. I use fused glass, lampworked elements, mixed metals, and reclaimed fragments. These materials catch my eye for their texture, history, or imperfections. I’m not interested in polished perfection. I’m interested in evidence—marks of making, surfaces that feel lived-in, pieces that look like they were found instead of manufactured.
ZMJ Studio is where I put together everything I’m obsessed with. This includes fire, metal, threads, transformation, and contrast. I also focus on the quiet beauty of things that survive.
Most days you’ll find me working with my chihuahua, Dali, nearby—supervising, judging, and occasionally acting like he pays the rent.
Every piece I create is meant to feel grounded and bold—jewelry with weight, character, and presence. Not precious. Not delicate. Just honest.
